CONTACT

Whilst the rest of us watched the horrific pictures of the Japanes disasters on our televisions, there where some old boys more immediately affected by the recent events.

Phil Smith Nelson 1961 – 67, sent us an accumulation of emails that illustrates vividly the torment of recent events in Japan. Phil is currently working in Qatar but much of his Japanese family were in Japan during all the March earthquakes.

Whilst I was only able to include a short part of this in the Newsletter, the unedited version is available here. Click on the headline for the full article.

Many thanks to Phil for his permission to print this.

RHS 300

As many of you may be aware the Royal Hospital School is now approaching its 300th anniversary. The School is therefore gearing up for the 2012/13 academic year, which has been chosen as the main focus for its tercentenary celebrations (RHS300).

The theme will be based on bringing together the past, present and future of the School; “celebrating our rich heritage, building on our traditions and looking forward to our future; educating children for life”. With this in mind the School is very keen to involve the entire RHS community in shaping these celebrations. Former students are a very important and certainly by far the largest group connected with the School and we are eager for as many as possible to engage with their old School and old friends in this celebration. Click the RHS300 link on the left for more detail.
